Singer-songwriter Sunny Sweeney's five-song EP was released digitally yesterday (January 18), advancing to the top 10 on the iTunes Country Album Chart. The preview of her upcoming record, which hits stores this spring, features current single 'From a Table Away,' which earned the East Texas native the highest-charting debut single of a female country artist in the last four years, according to Republic Nashville.

Sunny has taken to Twitter to promote the release, and has even received some help from her musical friends. Fellow Texan Kevin Fowler posted: "My good buddy Sunny Sweeney's new EP came out today on iTunes and Amazon. Everybody buy it. She's broke and needs the [money]. Ha. Just kiddin'."

There's no doubt that this is a labor of love, seeing as Sunny co-wrote all four of the remaining songs on the EP: 'Drink Myself Single,' 'Amy,' 'Staying's Worse Than Leaving,' and 'Helluva Heart.'

On the horizon is 'The Music Inside: A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings,' which includes Sunny's version of 'Good Hearted Woman' with Jessi Colter. The project will be available February 8.

Sunny's headed to Chicago this Friday (January 21), where she'll perform her new tunes on WGN Midday, which is broadcast in more than 200 cities on WGN America.Tune in to see her at 1:00 PM ET.

Sunny hits the road next week, with her first stop in San Jose, Calif. January 28. Details may be found here.
