After headlining Saturday night (April 27) at the 2019 Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif., Sam Hunt stuck around to join DJ and producer Diplo during his late-night set on Sunday night (April 28). Together, the pair performed Hunt's 2017 smash hit "Body Like a Back Road."

Readers can see snippets of Hunt and Diplo's version of "Body Like a Back Road" above and below. Hunt sang the lyrics over Diplo's remixed beat, as the crowd screamed the words back to them.

"Body Like a Back Road," written by Hunt, Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, broke chart records following its release in early 2017. Hunt's most successful single to date, the song set the record for the longest run at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart; although Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha's "Meant to Be" shattered that record in 2018, Hunt still holds the record for the longest run at the top of that chart by a solo artist.

In 2018, Hunt released another single, "Downtown's Dead," but he has yet to put out his sophomore album, which will follow 2014's Montevallo whenever it arrives. Hunt only has two more shows on his 2019 calendar, which he said at Stagecoach will allow him to finally get into the studio to put his next record together.

“I’ll start recording the best of the last 10, 11, 12 months ... in July and August, and I should have a record there,” Hunt shares. “The songs are showing up. I would like to have two or three more between now and July, but for the most part, the record’s there. It's just a matter of recording it.

Hunt’s website lists a May 5 appearance at the Off the Rails Country Music Fest in Frisco, Texas, and a June 14 stop at Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo., as the singer’s other pre-album release live shows. "I made a point this year [to not tour and to] get this record done come hell or high water," the singer says, but plenty of shows will be on the calendar in 2020.

Diplo's DJ set closed down the 2019 Stagecoach Festival, which ran Friday (April 26) to Sunday (April 28). In addition to Hunt, Cam joined Diplo to perform their recently released track "So Long." The Mississippi-born DJ is working on a series of country collaborations, reportedly with Thomas RhettZac Brown and Hunt in addition to Cam.

Also during Diplo's set, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus came out to sing their "Old Town Road" remix. That performance was the debut of Diplo's remix of the remix, which adds a galloping beat to the viral hit.
