Why We Dig Them: With honest songs combining muscle and grit and a sound that seamlessly weaves their various musical influences, Truth & Salvage Co. have delivered an album that reflects their band name perfectly. Originally hailing from Atlanta, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Tupelo and various cities throughout Ohio, this six-man country roots-rock band (with four singer-songwriters) met in North Carolina and formed in California, which goes a long way toward explaining the shimmering harmonies found on their self-titled debut. The album was produced by Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson, who signed them to his Silver Arrow record label. And you have to love a band that can rouse pop singer Katy Perry from her sleep to contribute a line to one of your songs!
