Garth Brooks and Trisha YearwoodTrisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks are certainly one of country music's most recognizable couples. And on a recent date night in Owasso, Okla., not far from where the couple resides, they encountered a fan who left Trisha -- the author of two cookbooks -- feeling a little anxious to step back into the music world.

"Garth and I were out at Red Robin the other day," Trisha tells Oklahoma magazine. "As we were leaving, a lady stopped him, and they were visiting. He introduced me to her. [She said], 'Oh yeah, I know you ... you're the cookbook lady!' When we walked out the door, I said to Garth, 'I've got to get back in the studio!'"

While she doesn't mind being known for her best-selling cookbooks, Trisha does see more music in her future. "I'm not finished with the music thing," she says, "but it is a just perception to say that I'm taking a break from touring because I don't have a record to promote, and touring requires a lot of time and energy. A book also requires a lot of time and energy. So I'm just focusing on one thing at a time right now.

"I actually thought about maybe trying to do some music around the cookbooks, but I just finally felt like I should let them do their own thing," she adds. "Music is what I have to do, though. I'm definitely a singer first."

Trisha hopes that "sometime this year" fans can expect to hear new music from her, but like everything in life, it will happen when the timing is right. "I can't sit here and say, 'I'm going into the studio on this date.' It all depends on the songs," she explains. "I'm not a songwriter, and when what a song says is important to you, you've got to really listen to thousands and thousands to find those 10 or 12 that really mean something to you ... songs that will feel like they're yours when you're done with them. It's a long process to me."

Until then, fans can look for "the cookbook lady" as she continues hitting select markets on her book tour promoting 'Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood.'
