Trent Tomlinson has said before that he would put his song, 'Angels Like Her,' on every album of his career until it's a single. Well the singer doesn't have to wait any longer. The song has been released as the third single off his forthcoming album, 'A Guy Like Me,' which is due in stores early next year.

"I've been jumping up and down and screaming at the top of my lungs for five years to everybody that this song is a hit," Trent tells The Boot. "If there ever was a song that was me, this is. In my opinion, it's probably the best thing I've ever written in my life. Why not put your best foot forward?"

Trent's first album, 'Country Is My Rock,' spawned the hit singles 'Drunker Than Me,' 'One Wing in the Fire,' and 'Just Might Have Her Radio On,' but didn't allow for the opportunity for 'Angels Like Her' to see the light of day.

"When we put out 'One Wing In The Fire,' it had angel references, so it was kind of hard to come back and release 'Angels Like Her' because it would've been two angel songs back-to-back," Trent explains. "So I get why were weren't able to release it on the first record."

In between albums, Trent has been trying to keep the song under-wraps, but admits it's been a challenge with artists like Montgomery Gentry trying to record the tune.

"I've been fighting off Montgomery Gentry from recording this thing for about three or four years. It's just one of those deals where I knew in my heart where if I don't put it out and have a hit with it, somebody's going to, and I'm going to look like a dumb-ass if I don't," Trent laughs.

Trent has filmed an acoustic-style video to 'Angels Like Her,' which will be released in the coming weeks. In the early part of 2010, Trent and his team will shoot a "full-blown video" to release to the music stations as well.
