Trace Adkins Joins ‘Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars’ Cast

Trace Adkins made an impressive showing in the seventh season of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" in 2008, coming in second in a nail-biting finale that ultimately saw TV host Piers Morgan crowned the winner. Now the singer, who raised money and awareness for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network in honor of his daughter, Brianna (who has a severe peanut allergy), has a second chance at victory. Donald Trump announced the cast for "Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars," which includes Trace and other previous cast mates vying for a shot at redemption.

Trace will be joined by his former teammate, actor Stephen Baldwin, on the show's 13th season, which will begin in March. Other celebs returning to the reality series include actor Gary Busey, magician Penn Jillette, rapper Lil Jon, basketball player Dennis Rodman, Twisted Sister lead singer Dee Snider, actress Marilu Henner, singer La Toya Jackson, actress Claudia Jordan, reality star Omarosa, actress Lisa Rinna and Playboy Playmate of the Year Brande Roderick.

"They're all very smart, and I think they learned a lot from their last go-around," says Trump (quote via the Washington Post). "This time, some of them will change their game to fool their rivals -- some for better, some for worse."

Trace has so far kept true to his word that he won't appear on other reality-show franchises. The superstar entertainer told The Boot last year, "I don't intend to do any more of them. The only reason I did 'Apprentice' was because of the charitable aspect. My career is fine, and I don't need to do that stuff unless it has some nobler aim. I'm not gonna go run through the jungle and try to survive just to prove that I can. That'd be the shortest show in history any way. The first day, I'd take a big stick and say, 'Everybody get off my island or I'll kill you,' and that'd be the end of the show."

Trace isn't the first country star to make an appearance on the Emmy-nominated show. Clint Black appeared in the second season of "Celebrity Apprentice" in 2009, coming in fifth, while John Rich was named season 11 winner last year, raising more than one million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

"Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars" will premiere in March 2013 on NBC.
