Tim McGraw has been known to break up the occasional brawl during his energy-packed concerts, but a fight during his show had the country superstar leaving matters to the police.

At a July 24 concert in Mansfield, Mass., six men walked away with serious legal charges, while another was left clinging to his life after a brutal beating. According to NECN.com, a fight allegedly erupted over a woman, but was fueled by excessive use of alcohol. The victim, a 19-year-old Westwood, Mass., resident, is still hospitalized in serious condition with severe head injuries, but is expected to make a full recovery.

"He stated he was talking to a girl when he was approached and confronted by someone and the fight started," Bristol County Assistant District Attorney Mark Donovan explains. "He was being attacked by several people, kicked and punched."

All six men have been charged with assault and battery, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for August 16.

The father of three girls has been explicit about his intolerance of violence at any of his shows, which is why he is so quick to jump to action when unruly behavior occurs. During a concert in Washington earlier this summer, he ejected a woman whose drunken antics he deemed unacceptable.

"You've got to go ... Y'all, chill out! Take it easy," Tim insisted from stage. "You've got to go, you've got no choice in the matter!"

The 44-year-old is continuing his Emotional Traffic tour -- hopefully drama-free -- this week with stops in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. Keep track of his schedule here.
