The Bellamy Brothers have kicked off the second leg of their worldwide 40th Anniversary Tour. The duo, made up of David and Howard Bellamy, will perform a series of shows in Norway and Switzerland over the next couple of weeks, before returning to the United States for more than 20 shows.

"This has been an incredible year," David Bellamy says in a statement. "Our tour schedule has been one of the most extensive in years and the offers keep coming in. With four international tours and more than 100 dates in the US, we've yet to have an 'off' weekend."

"Performing on stage is all we know," Howard Bellamy adds. "Hell, we've been doing it for 40 years.  As long as folks keep wanting to hear our music we'll stay on the road and will continue to put out new music. Our universal fan base continues to thrive and grow so here's to 40 more years!"

The siblings released their debut album, Let Your Love Flow, in 1976, with the title track becoming a No.1 hit in several countries, quickly giving the Bellamy Brothers international appeal.

“We love music; we love good songs,” David Bellamy tells The Boot. “It wasn’t surprising to us [that "Let Your Love Flow" was a hit], because we thought the song was so great, but the strange thing was, at that time, pop and country were changing, so pop was becoming more disco, and country was getting a little more outlaw.”

The success of that song prompted the brothers to perform in venues all across the globe, which they continued to do throughout their entire career.

“It was mainly just us wanting to see places and wanting to play for people,” David Bellamy explains. “[But] we were creating those markets for ourselves by going there.”

In May, the Bellamy Brothers released Bellamy Brothers: 40 Years, a two-disc project containing some of their biggest hits. The album is available for purchase on Amazon and iTunes.
