The Band Perry Take Home Best Country Duo / Group Performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards
The Band Perry won the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Country Duo / Group Performance for their song 'Gentle on My Mind.'
Rosanne Cash presented the award, but the trio was not in the audience to accept for their song, which comes off of Glen Campbell‘s ‘I’ll Be Me’ soundtrack. The trio's cover pays great homage to Campbell's mark on country music.
Campbell was also honored at the ceremony, with a win for Best Country Song, for 'I'm Not Gonna Miss You,' which was his last recorded song. His wife Kim accepted the award on Campbell's behalf, as he is in the late stages of Alzheimer's.
Other nominees for Best Country Duo / Group Performance were Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert for 'Somethin' Bad,' Tim McGraw and Faith Hill for 'Meanwhile, Back at Mama's,' Keith Urban and Eric Church for 'Raise 'Em Up' and Little Big Town for 'Day Drinking.'
