Taylor Swift, Conor Kennedy Dating? Grandmother Ethel Gives Kennedy Seal of Approval

The TaCo romance seems to be heating up! So just how did Taylor Swift meet her rumored new beau, Conor Kennedy? His grandmother, Ethel Kennedy reveals she didn't play matchmaker, as some sources are speculating, but the legendary family's matriarch has given the pair her approval. "We should be so lucky," the widow of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy told reporters at a Television Critics Association event, when asked about the possibility of the country superstar becoming a part of her family (quote via E! Online).

While promoting the new HBO documentary, "Ethel," with her daughter -- and the project's director and producer -- Rory Kennedy, Mrs. Kennedy explained how her family's association with the 22-year-old singer-songwriter began. "Rory went to a concert of hers with her two little girls, and that's how that started," she said.

"She's a great friend of all of ours," added Conor's Aunt Rory. "We love her. She's awesome."

After that initial meeting, Taylor's interaction with the family continued, as she walked the red carpet of the "Ethel" premiere at the Sundance Film Festival with the film's subject.

"I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago," the Vogue cover girl shared with the magazine. "She is one of my favorites, because you look back at the pictures of her and Bobby and they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody."

Then, in July came the announcement that the singer-songwriter will be recognized by the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights with the Ripple of Hope Award for her commitment to social change.

"Taylor Swift's dedication to advocacy at such a young age continues to inspire me, and I'm delighted to honor her as one of our 2012 Ripple of Hope Award recipients," Kerry Kennedy, President of the RFK Center for Justice says in a statement (via New Straits Times). "As a young person, Taylor has already accomplished so much, and I look forward to watching all that she will do to help build a brighter, more peaceful world for us all."

Taylor has been dropping hints about a new album, so perhaps there will a Kennedy inspired tune on her next project.
