Shovels & Rope Reveal Cover Art, Track Listing + Release Date for New Album

Shovels & Rope are preparing to release their new album, 'Swimmin' Time.'

The husband and wife duo, Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent, are set to release the album on Aug. 26 on Dualtone Music. The release's 13 original songs were tracked at the couple's home in Charleston, S.C.

Hearst and Trent met while he was touring with his previous band, the Films, and married in 2009. Their mix of country, rock and folk has earned the duo 2013 Americana Awards for Emerging Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for 'Birmingham.'

A documentary film about the band, 'The Ballad of Shovels & Rope,' premiered at the Nashville Film Festival in April and took home the festival's Ground Zero Tennessee Spirit Award for Best Feature.
