Rosanne Cash knows a thing or two about great songs. The daughter of country music royalty Johnny Cash, the singer-songwriter released an album last year, 'The List,' inspired by her late father. The record's 14 songs were culled from a list of 100 tunes that Johnny told her were the essential songs to know in order to better understand country music. Now, with 'The List' well over a year old, Rosanne may be ready to for some new material.

"There's certainly a wealth of material and it makes sense [to do another album]," Rosanne tells the Associated Press (quote via MSNBC). "People ask me about that all the time. So I think I would."

Rosanne feels confident about sharing more songs from the list with her loyal fan base, but the time may not be right quite yet. "I'm not ready to," she acknowledges. "So much of my dad has been co-opted by the public and this was such a personal thing to me. And I'm just not ready to post it on the internet or something ... I want to hang on to it for a little while. Eventually it should be archived properly, but right now it's mine."

'The List' rose all the way to No. 5 on the sales chart, which is an impressive feat considering the project received very little radio play. She credits her hard-working marketing team and the richness of the songs with the album's success. "There was a great back story to it and people were interested, and there was more interest in 'The List' than I expected," she admits. "I thought, 'Oh, this will be a quiet thing and some people will appreciate it.' It did very well, and it was satisfying to me, but I have to admit truthfully, it was a little jarring that I felt like my biggest success in a long time are songs that I didn't write. It shook me a little bit."

'The List' was recently named one of the Top Americana Albums of the year by The Boot. Rosanne will spend much of the next several weeks on the road, including stops in New York, Nevada and California. See her tour schedule here.
