The daytime talk show Pickler & Ben, hosted by country star Kellie Pickler and TV personality Ben Aaron, has been canceled. The E.W. Scripps Company recently announced that the show, which is filmed in front of a live studio audience in Nashville, will not be renewed following its second season.

"We were really disappointed to have to announce that we were going to be sunsetting Pickler & Ben after season two," Scripps' president of local media, Brian Lawlor, explains, according to the Tennesseean. "We loved the show. Audiences loved the show."

In fact, Picker & Ben notched two daytime Emmy nominations just days before the cancellation was announced: The show is currently up for awards in the categories of Outstanding Informative Talk Show Hosts and Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program (for pop-rocker Ben Rector's on-air performance of his 2018 song, "Old Friends"). However, according to Scripps, concerns about the show's long-term profitability eventually caused it to be canceled.

Pickler & Ben, which premiered in September of 2017, has featured a diverse group of celebrity guests, including Dolly Parton, Faith Hill (who is a producer of the show), Tim McGraw and Little Big Town. Other stars who have made an appearance include American Ninja Warrior host Matt Iseman, singer Kelly Osbourne, designer Amy Howard and many more.

Episodes of Pickler & Ben currently air in Nashville on weekdays at 9AM on News Channel 5, as well as on CMT. Pickler & Ben will continue to run through September of 2019; it's syndicated in various markets.
