Phil Vassar Sings for St. Jude’s Kids
Phil Vassar and Country Cares for St. Jude Kids radio station have joined forces for a year-long promotion to benefit kids seeking treatment for cancer and other deadly diseases at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Phil is working with the organization to provide a free acoustic concert to the radio station that secures the most 'Partner In Hope' monthly pledges starting now through Feb. 2, 2011.
The St. Jude Partner in Hope family is made up of a special group of loyal supporters who give monthly donations to the organization so the hospital has the necessary financial resources to ensure that no child is ever turned away because of a family's inability to pay.
"St Jude is such a fantastic and necessary organization,' Phil says. "I want to do whatever I can to help these kids, and we're going to have some fun in the process."
Country Cares was formed in 1989 after Alabama lead singer, Randy Owen, met St. Jude founder Danny Thomas. Since its inception, Country Cares has grown to be one of the most successful radio fundraising events in the nation with over 200 radio station partners raising move than $365 million in pledges.
