If you're making a list of some of country's hottest bachelors, here's one humble single hunk right here: Phil Vassar. As a public service for single girls everywhere who might want to date a charismatic country artist, The Boot asked Phil to take our single man's pop quiz, and being the good sport that he is -- with just a minute's notice -- he gladly answered our questions about what an eligible bachelor like himself might be looking for when it comes to the opposite sex. Grab a pencil and take notes. He just might be a keeper for some lucky single lady.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is it for you to be in love?

Pretty important. [laughs] I'd say it would be up near at the top ... nine.

How do you act when you have a crush on someone?

Goofy, just like everybody else does. I'm pretty quiet. I'm not really outgoing. In public I can be, but in private I have a hard time.

Would you ever go on a blind date?

I probably would. If I knew the person setting me up, and they said, "Look, I know somebody." I've only done that a couple of times. They were great girls ... I'm still friends with them, so I guess it was good. If it doesn't go good, then you say to your friend, "OK, bonehead, I thought you knew me better than that." [laughs]

What's a deal breaker for you in a relationship?

Lying, for sure.

Do you prefer blonds, brunettes or redheads?

I do not discriminate. I love all of them. I can't pick one ... I love redheads, I've got to say.

When you want to ask someone out, is it hard for you to do or easy?

It's pretty hard. I guess it's always going to be that fear of rejection. Usually, if I meet somebody, we can go to lunch or something like that. I do it all the time, not just dating, but in general. You can always have meetings or lunch.

If you were to put out a personal ad, what would you say about yourself?

[laughs] Oh, good grief! That's tough. I'm an up person, and I'm athletic. I like music ... these things are so hard to do. I don't know how you profile yourself.

What qualities in a woman turn you off?

I think someone who talks too much and knows everything ... or if they're way into themselves. That really bothers me.

What's a turn-on for you?

Somebody that is soft spoken ... I'm a sucker for a beautiful smile and pretty eyes.

Have you ever experienced love at first sight?

Yes. I met a girl one time. She was in Pennsylvania, and she was waiting on us in a club, and I just went, "Holy smoke!"

I ended up being with her for a long time.

If a woman were beautiful but a snob, would you ask her out?

Never. I know a lot of those. They're not my type.

Is it important for you to date someone exclusively or do you like to play the field?

It's hard to play the field. Theoretically, it's fun, but it never ends well. It depends on how you're doing it. If you're running around sleeping with a bunch people, it's not going to [work].

Have you ever had a broken heart?

Of course.

How do you mend a broken heart?

Well, a lot of liquor and a lot of girls. I'm kidding. It just takes time for me.

Are you the jealous type?

Not at all.

When was the last time you had the first-date jitters?

Probably about a year ago. I was a little nervous about getting together. That's kind of a weird deal anyway. You never know how it's going to turn out.

What is your idea of a fun date?

I like hanging out during the day, going to the park, maybe riding bikes, walking and talking ... going to different restaurants, drinking some wine ... in Paris. [laughs]

If you date a lady that your daughters aren't crazy about, would you continue seeing her or break it off?

I probably wouldn't continue seeing her. If there were a reason like she didn't like my kids or she wasn't into kids, I can't deal with that.

Have you ever written a song about being in love with someone specific?

Oh, yeah. The song 'Like I've Never Loved Before.' I was married to her, but I'm not married to her now.

Who's your celebrity crush?

Jennifer Aniston

Name five important qualities in a woman that you would date.

1. A great smile. 2. I'm a sucker for a girl that's athletic. 3. I'm way into feet, so she has to have pretty toes. [laughs] 4. I like somebody who's smart ... someone you can carry on a conversation with. 5. She has to like ['The Andy Griffith Show's] Barney Fife ... that's a given!
