Phil Vassar Fights Hunger With a ‘Prayer’

In an effort to raise funds for the Feeding America network, Phil Vassar has teamed up with Nashville's renowned Fisk University Jubilee Singers to re-record 'Prayer of a Common Man,' the title track of his latest album.

The song is now available for download at Rhapsody's online music service. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest), through the end of the year.

"I know that hunger in America is an issue that affects every community," said Vassar. "By lending my voice to Feeding America's Hunger Action Month campaign, it's my hope that we can get millions of Americans involved in the fight to end hunger."

Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States, includes more than 200 food banks across the country, providing services to more than 63,000 agencies who, in turn, help feed 25 million Americans each year.
