Pat Green has released the lyric video for his duet, 'Girls From Texas,' with Lyle Lovett. The song is the first tune from an upcoming new album.

The laid-back tune, which features both men trading lines like "Minnesota gals sure fill out a sweater, but the girls from Texas are just a little bit better / Mississippi's got all them Delta queens / Louisiana Cajun girls beat all I've ever seen / Ever kiss a girl from Kansas, you damn sure won't forget her / But the girls from Texas are just a little bit better," pays homage to their home state with the well-crafted lyrics that are Green's trademark.

The singer-songwriter says 'Girls From Texas' is just a hint of what the rest of the record will sound like.

"I recorded it with my band, instead of using studio musicians, which I've never really done before on my studio albums," he tells the Dallas Observer. "This time, I got into the studio with my band, and I felt that everyone really stretched out and worked really well together. I'm a great fan of collaboration, especially when it's such a high caliber of talent involved."

Green hints that in addition to Lovett, Sheryl Crow, Delbert McClinton and Marc Broussard also will appear on the project.

'Girls From Texas' will be released on Sept. 16.
