Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are stepping up to help victims of Monday's EF5 tornado that decimated areas of Moore, Okla. The 'Mama's Broken Heart' singer's MuttNation Foundation is one of three animal charities on the scene to help displaced animals and families with nowhere to put their pets while they recover.

According to KOTV-TV, Oklahoma's Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese invited MuttNation to assist. Along with Red Star Rescue and North Shore Animal League, Lambert's pet charity have deployed two mobile rescue vehicles. "I'm so proud that MuttNation Foundation can help even a little," Lambert posted on her Facebook page Thursday afternoon.

The North Shore Animal League's website offers more specifics about how the non-profits will help. The mobile rescue units are self-contained shelters on wheels available for temporary shelter for pets of evacuated residents. In addition, they'll work to ease the burden of local rescues to reduce the chance of a lost animal being euthanized.

Lambert founded MuttNation in 2009. The charity's goal is "to ensure that every single dollar donated assists animals in need." They're supported by private donations and fundraisers. Lambert is a well-known animal lover who has rescued many pets that have turned up at her and husband Shelton's doorstep.

Previously, Shelton had said he was working with NBC to organize a benefit concert for victims of the tornado. No further details about the concert have been made available.
