Miranda Lambert could be considered the poster child for a healthy body image. The "Over You" singer says she knows she will never be a size 0, and that suits her just fine.

"I don't care about being stick-thin," she confesses to Self magazine. "I don't want stuff to jiggle. Really skinny actresses make me hungry -- I see them and think, 'Honey, you need to eat!' I'm lucky I don't have to live like that. I feel my best when I'm a toned, not flabby, size 8."

The reigning ACM Top Female Vocalist is focusing more on staying healthy, including adding lean protein and healthy snacks like almonds into her diet, without making too many sacrifices. "I won't give up what I enjoy to look perfect," notes the Texas native. "I want to find a happy medium between feeling good about my body and still having a beer and some barbecue."

The 28-year-old has also added exercise into her daily routine, including running up arena stairs when on the road, but hopes one part of her physique never changes. "I don't mind having a big butt," she concedes. "I actually like that about myself."

Miranda admits she had to tone up for her wedding (to husband Blake Shelton) last year, but regardless of her size, she knows she has the approval of her adoring spouse. "I asked Blake, 'Dude, why didn't you tell me I got fat?'" she recalls. "He said, 'That would go over like a lead balloon. It's not my job to tell you you're fat. It's my job to tell you you're beautiful.'"

The singer-songwriter is currently on the road with her On Fire tour, but while she may have several people in her entourage, one job that isn't filled is a security guard. "I carry a weapon," warns the songstress. "I got a death threat a few years ago and was really scared. But I don't want bodyguards. I am my own security."

Miranda's tour takes her to Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee this week. See her complete list of concert dates here, and read her full interview with Self here.
