Miranda Lambert ‘Caught Off Guard’ By CMA Entertainer Nomination

Miranda Lambert is the clear front-runner for the upcoming CMA Awards, leading the pack with nine nominations, including Female Vocalist of the Year. But there's another category she's nominated in that would mean something even more special to the Texas-born singer-songwriter.

"Of all the [categories] I have to say, Album of the Year would be huge," Miranda tells ABC's 'Good Morning America' host Robin Roberts. "Because this album is so important to me and so me. You listen to this album you get to know Miranda Lambert. If it wins an award for that reason, I would be thrilled."

Up against Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, George Strait and Carrie Underwood in that category, at least she isn't competing for Album of the Year against future husband Blake Shelton, though the happy couple will square off against each other in three categories, including Single of the Year. Yet, instead of being a fierce competitor, Miranda is planting herself firmly in her fiancé's corner.

"I would love to see Blake take home Male Vocalist of the Year, because he deserves it. I hear him sing on stage," she says, "but I also hear him sing around the house and it's just as good. He deserves it."

Miranda acknowledges that at least one of her nominations was a bit unsettling. "To be honest, I was a little bit caught off guard that I got nominated for Entertainer of the Year," she admits. "I just didn't feel that I had really earned that spot yet. It's a huge, huge nomination. But I've come to terms with it."

Ultimately, she says it will take very little to make her happy on awards night. "I would love obviously to win one award," she continues. "It is my birthday. I've never won a CMA before."

Chances are Miranda will have plenty of stage time the night of the awards ceremony, and she's also performing during the show. The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, Wednesday, November 10 on ABC.
