Miranda Lambert Says Blake Shelton Deserves His CMA Nods

Blake Shelton is the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, and if his wife, Miranda Lambert, had her way, he'd take home the same trophy at tonight's CMA Awards ceremony.

"[Blake] really deserves to be in the spotlight right now," Lambert tells CMT. "He's making country music look great now on national television every week, and I just feel like it's his time."

The husband and wife have both had a remarkable year. Shelton embarked on his Ten Times Crazier tour, served as a mentor for Season 4 of 'The Voice,' and is currently on the reality TV talent show for Season 5. He also released his platinum-selling album, 'Based On a True Story...,' which already garnered three No. 1 hits.

Meanwhile, his adoring wife hit the road for her own Locked & Reloaded tour with Dierks Bentley, and had three Top 20 hits, including her platinum-selling 'Mama's Broken Heart.' The songstress admits it's been a lot to absorb.

"It's amazing," she acknowledges. "I don't think we even realize what all has happened to us in the last year or two years. I'm ready to sort of sit back and Google myself and be like 'What have I been doing?' All this great stuff's been happening, and I haven't been able to enjoy it because there's so much other stuff going on."

The happy couple could walk away with nine awards at tonight's CMA Awards ceremony. Shelton is nominated for four trophies, including Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, while his wife is in the running for three. Both of them were also nominated for Video of the Year, which went to Tim McGraw for 'Highway Don't Care,' his collaboration with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

The 47th annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena at 8PM ET on ABC.
