Miranda Lambert Wins Her Sixth Female Vocalist of the Year CMA Award
It was business as usual for Miranda Lambert at the 2015 CMA Awards: For the sixth year in a row, the Platinum singer-songwriter took home the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, extending her record-breaking winning streak in the category.
"I needed a bright spot this year," Lambert said, in a not-so-veiled allusion to her divorce from Blake Shelton, before thanking country music fans, as well as Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton. She was certainly sincere about the latter compliment, as she accepted the Female Vocalist of the Year award while wearing a grey sleeveless T-shirt featuring a bedazzled Stapleton logo.
Lambert also wasn't taking the award for granted or planning to rest on her laurels, as she concluded her brief speech by noting, "I'm going to go home and practice."
