Country icon Michael Martin Murphey already has a lot on hit plate for 2014, starting off with a January full of live shows in Colorado and the Northeast.

Murphey played the Steamboat Springs Music Fest on Jan. 6 and 7 in Steamboat Springs, Colo., before heading north for shows across the region, including New York City, New Haven, Conn., and Wilmington, Del. He'll be traveling to Kansas City, Mo., before rounding out the month at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nev.

If it sounds like January will be busy for the singer-songwriter, it's only the beginning. Murphey is set to appear on PBS's 'Bluegrass Undergound' and NPR's 'Mountain Stage' this spring.

The 'Wildfire' singer -- whose most recent album, 'Red River Drifter,' hit the Top 10 in Billboard's Bluegrass Albums chart,  spent the holidays traveling on his successful 20th Anniversary Cowboy Christmas Tour. He also opened the Rocking 3M Amphitheater in Red River, N.M. in 2013, where he plans to play multiple shows over the next year.

A complete calendar of tour dates and appearances is available on Murphey's website.
