Merle Haggard Postpones Tour Dates After Being Hospitalized With Pneumonia
Merle Haggard has checked himself into a hospital with pneumonia, forcing the postponement of some upcoming tour dates.
According to a post on Haggard's Facebook page, a total of four shows have been affected: Dec. 2 in Palm Desert, Calif.; Dec. 3 in Riverside, Calif.; Dec. 4 in Oakland, Calif.; and Dec. 5 in Wendover, Nev. The country icon's next schedule concert is on Dec. 7 in Las Vegas, Nev., according to the list of dates posted on his website; the Facebook post notes that "he hopes to be well enough to play" beginning with that date.
No makeup dates have been announced for the four shows, but the Facebook post says to "stay tuned ..."
These concerts are the second set that Haggard has had to postpone recently. In mid-October, he and Willie Nelson were forced to postpone the first few dates of their 2015 Django and Jimmie Tour due to a medical concern on Nelson's end. It was later revealed that the postponements were due to a stem cell operation that Nelson had undergone to help his lungs.
Haggard and Nelson released their newest collaborative album, the No. 1 Django and Jimmie, earlier this year.
