Meghan Linsey Shares New Holiday Single, Music Video

Meghan Linsey has released a new holiday single, "Perfect Time of Year," as well as an accompanying music video.

The new track is all about how a new love in Linsey's life makes her feel like it's Christmastime all of the time, but the video is less about romance and much more about the holiday spirit. The clip features a Christmas tree, shots of Linsey by the fireplace and a couple of mutts dressed in their holiday finest.

"I'm trading in my high-heeled shoes, that party dress, for something new / Like me and you / I got a blanket, you can bring the wine / We'll build a fire / We can take our time / Honey, I don't mind / 'Cause it's that time of year / Always that time of year," Linsey sings before breaking into the song's chorus: "And oh, oh, oh, it feels like Christmas all around me / Feels like Christmas since you found me / It's my favorite time of year / And oh, oh, oh, yeah, you keep everything a-glowing / Even when my sky's a-snowing / You always bring me right back here / All the time, you're my perfect time of year."

The Voice runner-up kicked off the holiday season early as the special guest on this year's Santa Train; the event celebrated its 73rd year of delivering gifts, warm clothing and food to families in need at stops in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee in 2015. This summer, Linsey released an EP of six songs, all penned by 29-year-old herself, drawing from her own life experiences as inspiration.

“I wanted to write about what I know and what I’ve been through,” she says. “I haven’t always been confident. I’m still not always confident. I struggle with feeling balanced and good enough, all the time. I’ve been through some hard stuff, and I’ve come out on the other side, and I’m okay. I’m stronger than ever. I think people can relate to that. I want to be an inspiration to others.”
