Meghan Linsey, formerly of Steel Magnolia and The Voice's Season 8 runner-up, has announced a new EP, Believer.

A couple of weeks ago, Linsey told The Boot that she was moving in a more soulful direction with her new project, saying, “It’s a little more soul-pop. Someone the other day said it sounded like the Black Keys and Adele singing in front, which was a huge compliment, and I’ll take it. But it definitely has the soulful thing, with some edge.”

Now that she has she announced the forthcoming record, it sounds like fans should chow down on some Andouille sausage with a side of dirty rice in preparation for Believer.

"Recording this time around was really just about finding my voice as a solo artist, and for me, that meant getting back to my roots," Linsey tells Entertainment Tonight. "I grew up in New Orleans, and I've always had a soulful sound, I'm just now really able to showcase it."

The 29-year-old got out her pen for this round of songs, a batch that she cites as relatable -- especially in terms of confidence and feeling "good enough."

"I wanted to write about what I know and what I've been through," Linsey says. "I haven't always been confident. I'm still not always confident. I struggle with feeling balanced and good enough, all the time. I've been through some hard stuff, and I've come out on the other side, and I'm okay. I'm stronger than ever. I think people can relate to that. I want to be an inspiration to others."

The six-track EP, which is being released via Bold Music Group, will be available on Garth Brooks' GhostTunes platform on July 27 and through iTunes and other digital retailers on July 31.
