Martina McBride is clearly all about timing. Or maybe it's fate. However you want to label it, there's really not a great way to explain how her new single 'Teenage Daughters' became available on iTunes the very same day (March 29) that her daughter Emma became a teenager!

"I couldn't believe it when I noticed the single release date was the same day Emma turns 13!" says Martina. "How fitting that I have another teenager in the house on the very day the song is released!"

Emma is the second teen in Martina's household. Her daughter Delaney is now 16. In fact, it was an exchange with Delaney that inspired Martina to co-write this song with the Warren Brothers. It's the lead-off single from her upcoming album, which is scheduled to be released this year.

"John, my husband, took Delaney to school [one] morning, and she said, 'Mom hates me.' I'm like, 'What are you talking about? That's ridiculous,'" Martina tells Our Country. "But I must have gotten on her a little bit too much. So [my co-writers and I] started talking and I said that's what we should write about."

And if you're concerned that Martina might run out of inspiration, have no fear. Daughter Ava is only 5 so there's plenty of growing still ahead in the McBride household!

"John and I are really proud of the open relationships we have with our girls," says Martina. "But let's get real, it's not always easy when they're seeking independence and you're wanting to keep them in that innocent stage."

Speaking of stages, Martina's next scheduled concert is April 9 in Florence, Ariz. For more concert news, check here.
