Luke Bryan is the 2014 Entertainer of the Year, and he was presented the award by an extremely special country star: Garth Brooks.

"You never forget the feeling of winning this award right here," Brooks said before he read the names of the nominees, which included Bryan, Miranda LambertBlake Shelton, George Strait and Keith Urban.

When Bryan's name was announced, he was overcome with emotion, sharing a very long hug with his beautiful wife. As he finally made his way onstage and hugged Brooks, he took the mic, saying, "Well, first of all, I've never met Garth.

"Hey, Garth, can I hug you again?" he asked.

Then, he launched into a tender speech, saying, "I hope I can have enough time to say everything that's on my mind.

"Thank you God above. Thank you so much," he said tearfully. "I have some angels in heaven: My brother and sister are up there."

Bryan also made sure to pay gratitude to his wife.

"Caroline, I love you baby. To everybody in my world that's put this moment in my life together … These fans, these country music fans, thank you so much," he said. "My heroes down here on the front row, people i have toured with, guys that I have learned from in this business [that] made it possible to follow my dreams every night."

He concluded in typical Bryan fashion -- with a wide smile, holding up his gleaming trophy, and announcing, "We're gonna have a good time tonight!"
