Little Big Town Win Vocal Group of the Year at 2016 ACM Awards
After a massive year, the hits kept on coming for Little Big Town as they took the stage to accept the 2016 ACM Award for Vocal Group of the Year.
“We grew up singing harmonies with our families, so we want to give this to our families,” said “Girl Crush” chanteuse Karen Fairchild. “That’s where we learned how to sing, and we loved it so much, and our babies are at home. All these artists out here that inspire us so much, we love you guys, we’re honored to stand here with you.”
Added Kimberly Schlapman, "Thank you, Chris Stapleton, for not being a group."
To be fair, though, Little Big Town were a clear favorite for this award, even up against heavy contenders such as Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts and Eli Young Band.
It's already been a big night for Little Big Town, who headed into the evening with a win for Vocal Event of the Year, for “Smokin’ and Drinkin’," the group’s 2014 collaboration with Miranda Lambert.
