Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town Win Vocal Event of the Year at 2016 ACM Awards
Right before Little Big Town and Trombone Shorty performed an incendiary version of "Stay All Night," co-hosts Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan revealed that the former had won the 2016 ACM Award for Vocal Event of the Year. The occasion? Their collaboration with Miranda Lambert, "Smokin' and Drinkin'," a song on the latter's 2014 album, Platinum.
The song's producers, Chuck Ainlay, Frank Liddell and Glenn Worf, as well as record label RCA Nashville, also won as part of the prize.
Other nominees for the award included Gary Allan's “Hangover Tonight,” featuring Chris Stapleton; Luke Bryan's “Home Alone Tonight,” featuring Karen Fairchild; Keith Urban's “Raise ‘Em Up,” featuring Eric Church; and Kenny Chesney's “Wild Child,” with Grace Potter.
