Lauren Alaina, Ashley McBryde and Deana Carter rocked the crowd at the 2018 ACM Honors in late August with a medley of hit tunes penned by Matraca Berg, the recipient of the Poet's Award at the ceremony. Readers can press play above to watch the moving performance of some of Berg's most well-known songs.

During the trio's tribute, Alaina took lead at the start, for a breathtaking delivery of Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter's hit collaboration "You & Tequila." McBryde followed with "Wrong Side of Memphis," which was originally recorded by Trisha Yearwood, while Carter ended the medley with her own hit, "Strawberry Wine." The powerhouse vocalists brought the audience to their feet.

While accepting her Poet's Award, Berg offered an emotional expression of her gratitude for the honor and the tribute performance. The prolific songwriter has contributed not only to the three songs that were performed at the 2018 ACM Honors, but to other country tracks such as Martina McBride's "Wild Angels" and Yearwood's "XXXs and OOOs (An American Girl)." Berg's first No. 1 songwriting hit came at the age of 18, in 1983, with “Faking Love” by TG Sheppard and Karen Brooks. She scored another No. 1 four years later with "The Last One to Know," recorded by Reba McEntire.

The 2018 ACM Honors took place on Aug. 22 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
