Laura Bell Bundy is set to appear on the CW series "Hart of Dixie," joining the hit show for at least two episodes this fall. According to HuffPost TV, the Tony-nominated actress has been cast as Shelby, a possible love interest for George Tucker (played by Scott Porter). Her appearance comes as George's wedding is called off following his fiancée's affair with the town mayor, and Shelby's interest in the jilted groom only further complicates the situation.

Laura Bell, who has appeared in both "Hairspray" and "Legally Blonde: The Musical" on Broadway, has also relied on her acting chops while finishing her upcoming CD. The singer-actress has already filmed three videos for the new album.

"One is theatrical, and the other two are more meaningful," she tells The Boot. "One's for a ballad and the other is for a mid-tempo, and they have a message -- and one is sort of a dance video."

Having successfully balanced her ambitions as an actress and a singer, the Kentucky native says her proudest moments have to do with relationships more than career success.

"I always say that the best part of a person's career when they look back is the friends they've made, and honestly it really is," she notes.

The second season of "Hart of Dixie" begins Oct. 2 at 8:00 PM ET on the CW. Laura Bell's first episode on the show airs Oct 16.
