Lady Antebellum Tour Bus Is One Size Fits All
Lady Antebellum, the country trio comprised of Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, recently wrapped up their Own the Night world tour and are now undoubtedly enjoying the comforts of their own respective homes again. But while fans may think the group members travel in individual buses while on the road, for now, one bus suits them just fine.
"There'll be a point, I think, when kids kinda get in the picture and that might be a little harder," says Charles (quote via Country Vibe). "But ... as long as we can stay on one bus together we remain closer, we write more. I mean, there's so many times I'll sit there and Dave'll be in the front piddlin' on a guitar idea or Hillary will be humming something and I sit there and I go, 'I like what you're playing right there.' That wouldn't happen if we were separated."
The three also each have spouses who sometimes accompany them on their travels, and in spite of platinum-selling albums and sold-out shows all over the world, they like to save money whenever they can.
"It's obviously a heck of a lot cheaper," Charles notes, adding that frugality isn't the only factor to consider. "I don't want it to be one of those things where literally the first time you see each other is when you walk up and hit that first note," he concludes. "That doesn't feel like a traveling band."
Lady A still has plenty of travel ahead for the remainder of 2012. They'll pack up their suitcases again and head to Australia in September. See a list of those dates here.
