Lady Antebellum Win Grammy for Best Country Album

Lady Antebellum, who picked up two awards during the Grammy Awards' pre-telecast for Best Country Performance for 'Need You Now,' which also took Best Country Song, also were named the winners of Best Country Album for 'Need You Now,' following their live performance on the show.

They were nominated alongside Dierks Bentley ('Up on the Ridge'), Zac Brown Band ('You Get What You Give'), Jamey Johnson ('The Guitar Song') and Miranda Lambert ('Revolution').

The award was presented by Miley Cyrus and Kings of Leon, both acts originally from Nashville. "Man we just want to start off by thanking Capitol Nashville ... it's been a huge, huge, huge year for us," said Charles Kelley, while Hillary Scott thanked God and all of their friends back home in Music City who have supported them from the beginning. The group then deferred the microphone over to their record producer Paul Worley, before thanking country radio.

The trio -- collectively or separately -- co-wrote eight of the 11 cuts on the project, which is titled after their five-week No. 1 hit, 'Need You Now.' Making their second album was a bit different than making the first one, and it could be chalked up to more experiences, life changes and adding co-producing duties to their resume. "Maybe we've grown up a little," Dave Haywood told The Boot. "There are new experiences. When we were writing those first songs, Hillary was 19, 20, and Charles and I just moved to Nashville. So, we were pretty naive at the time and still getting the whole knack of songwriting down. We've lived a lot, and we've seen a lot of things on the road and we've seen what people respond to. And we understood at the end of the day, we just need to create honest music."

Lady A, who are heading up the country charts with their latest 'Hello World,' return home to Nashville to perform a benefit show for the Wells Foundation Gift of Music on February 18 at the Wildhorse Saloon.
