If you have been waiting to hear new music from Lady Antebellum, the wait is nearly over. The trio release their new single today, followed by the television debut of the song on the 'American Idol' results show on Thursday (May 5). The new single is titled 'Just a Kiss,' which they performed at the Divas Nashvegas benefit show for the Oasis Center in Nashville on Friday.

The group is probably just as thrilled as their fans to release new music. "SO excited to perform a new song next Thursday on Idol! Hope you guys can tune in!," they tweeted on Friday.

'Just a Kiss' is the first release from the follow-up album to the multi-platinum selling, Grammy winning 'Need You Now.' "We're excited! We're so ready for new music, we're just chomping at the bit," Lady A's Charles Kelley tells The Boot. "It seems like forever promoting 'Need You Now,' so we're ready for some new music."

In addition to Lady A's performance on the show, celebrity judge Jennifer Lopez will perform her latest single, 'On the Floor,' with rapper Pitbull.

A few country artists have already graced the stage of 'American Idol' this year, including Jason Aldean, who made his debut on the show last month with the multi-week No. 1 duet, 'Don't You Wanna Stay,' with Season 1 champ Kelly Clarkson, while Sugarland made their first appearance on the FOX show in March.

Lady A will follow their 'American Idol' appearance with a performance on this year's Billboard Music Awards, where they have several nominations, including overall Top Duo/Group, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for 'Need You Now' and Top Country Artist, among others. The 2011 Billboard Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas May 22 on ABC.
