The Nashville Film Festival (NaFF) has selected Kris Kristofferson's new film 'Bloodworth' to kick-off the 2011 event, which will take place April 14-21 at Regal Green Hills Cinema.

After receiving critical praise during in-progress screenings, 'Bloodworth' will make its Southeastern U.S. debut during the annual movie and music event. Kris portrays E.F. Bloodworth, an aging musician who returns home to Tennessee to find his family crumbling under the consequences of their patriarch's decisions. The film co-stars Dwight Yoakam, Val Kilmer, Hilary Duff, Frances Conroy, Reece Thompson and W. Earl Brown, who adapted the screenplay from William Gay's novel 'Provinces of Night.'

Directed by Shane Taylor and produced by Jay McPhaul, 'Bloodworth' will feature a music score composed by T-Bone Burnett. The famed producer and musician was the driving force behind the 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' and 'Crazy Heart' Grammy success.

Additional featured movies will be announced in the weeks leading up to opening night. Film enthusiasts can visit the Nashville Film Festival's official website to learn more about the event.
