More than a year after Brooks & Dunn's final show, Kix Brooks is officially going solo. The country superstar will release 'New to This Town,' his first solo single for Arista Nashville, on March 19. The tune features a fellow music legend: Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh.

"It paints the powerful emotion we've all known, of lost love and the uncomfortable situation of running in to that person again," Kix says of the new tune, which he co-wrote with Marv Green and Terry McBride. "After a couple phone calls and the sending of a music file across the internet, the man himself put his stamp on 'New To This Town' like only Joe Walsh could!"

Kix hasn't been on vacation since Brooks & Dunn folded. A two-time CMA National Broadcast Personality of the Year winner, the Louisiana native has been hosting his 'American Country Countdown' syndicated radio show every week. He also spent last summer filming his big-screen debut in 'Thriftstore Cowboy.' Acting is something that's been in Kix's blood for a long time, as he was a theater major in college. But he never had time for it until recently, given his busy touring and recording schedule.

"It's a freedom of sorts," says the multi-talented entertainer, referring to the end of Brooks & Dunn after 20 illustrious years together. "It's not a bitter freedom by any means, just sort of a 'well that was fun, now what?' Sort of like being at a theme park and looking around after riding the same roller coaster you finally say, 'Ok I think I'll try that one over there!'"

Kix's old singing partner, Ronnie Dunn, released his self-titled solo album in June 2011. The project has spawned three hit singles so far, 'Bleed Red,' 'Cost of Livin'' and 'Let the Cowboy Rock.'
