He may not be eligible as a recording artist this year, but Kix Brooks is still winning CMA Awards. The former Brooks & Dunn member is this year's recipient of the CMA National Broadcast Personality of the Year award, winning the trophy for the second time. Kix is once again recognized for his wildly popular 'American Country Countdown With Kix Brooks' weekly radio show. His longtime buddy Tim McGraw was on-hand to call Kix and surprise him with the win.

The veteran entertainer is also the first country artist in history to win both a CMA Broadcast Awards trophy and CMA awards as a recording artist. Brooks & Dunn won 19 CMAs over the course of their career, including Entertainer of the Year in 1996.

"Country radio is the foundation of our industry," acknowledges Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. "It is our honor to shine the spotlight on those who are working tirelessly to share country music with their communities."

The remaining award categories will be announced during the 45th Annual CMA Awards ceremony, airing live from Nashville on November 9, 2011 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the show for the fourth consecutive year.
