Kenny Rogers Releases First Live Christmas Album
Kenny Rogers will continue his long-standing tradition of celebrating the holiday season with his annual Christmas & Hits tour, and this year, his fans will receive an extra special gift. The three-time Grammy winner will release his first live CD of Christmas tunes, 'Christmas Live,' just in time for the holiday season.
The 72-year old has released seven Christmas albums in the last 30 years, but this is the first CD of holiday tunes that he has recorded live. Featured on the CD are traditional carols, including 'Silent Night,' 'Away In a Manger/O Holy Night' and 'O Come All Ye Faithful,' as well as 'Mary, Did You Know,' that he first recorded with Wynonna Judd in 1997.
The live holiday CD is the perfect way to finish a monumental year for the country music legend. He kicked off 2010 with a special televised celebration of his half-century career. 'Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years' included special appearances by Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, Sheena Easton, Alison Krauss and the Oak Ridge Boys. Kenny also received the prestigious American Eagle Award in May, honoring his iconic career.
Kenny's debut single from the 'Christmas Live,' 'The Chosen One/Joy to the World,' was just released to radio. See a list of Kenny's tour dates below, and order his new album here.
