When Keith Urban stops by 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' it's like he's visiting an old friend.

Sure, the country superstar has charmed hosts and their audiences from network to network, but he and Ellen seem to have developed a special camaraderie through the years. Doubt it? Watch the video below of Keith's reaction in an unguarded moment when Ellen unexpectedly dropped by while he and his band were rehearsing 'Without You,' and we bet you'll agree.

Lucky for those of us who pine for more news about Keith, his wife Nicole Kidman and daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, he shares with Ellen (and us!) lots of adorable tales about his family when he guests on the talk show.

Although we may have known from past reports that Sunday Rose is quite the singer herself, we didn't know that she's also a music critic whose questions may stump her dad.

"We were in the car yesterday, and we're driving along and she's sitting in the back and she said, 'Why you say 'hey?,'" Keith told Ellen. "I said, 'I didn't say 'hey.' And she said, 'No, the man on the radio said 'hey.' And I turn it up and it's James Brown and he's like [screams like James Brown] 'Hey!'"

Keith laughingly told Ellen and her viewers that the only answer he could summon was, "It just sounds good."

Perhaps Keith talks more openly about his family these days because he's so relieved that he doesn't have a big secret. After all, he and Nicole kept the news of the upcoming arrival of Faith Margaret, who was born via surrogate, quiet until the day of her birth.

"It's a hard thing when you're having a child," he explained. "It's very exciting ... We felt it [was] better to just keep it sacred."

Keith will play a few concerts next month in his homeland of Australia before he returns to the States. His next scheduled U.S. concert is April 30 in Last Vegas. Check out his full tour schedule here.
