Keith Urban Is 2017’s Golden Boot Awards Artist of the Year!
Congratulations, Keith Urban! The Boot's readers have voted the country superstar as 2017's Golden Boot Awards Artist of the Year.
Competing against Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris and Sturgill Simpson, Urban received nearly 57 percent of the votes in this year's Golden Boot Awards Artist of the Year poll. Lambert placed second, followed by Underwood in third.
Since releasing Ripcord in May of 2016, Urban has been promoting the project and releasing hit singles from the record. He spent the latter half of 2016 out on the road for his Ripcord World Tour, with Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris as his special guests; Urban also toured in Australia and New Zealand near the end of 2016, with Underwood.
Speaking of Underwood, she is Urban's duet partner on his most recent single from Ripcord, "The Fighter." The song is a call-and-response-style duet, and although the two have performed it live together a number of times, Urban has also found unique ways to fill in Underwood's parts when he's alone.
Urban and Underwood will reunite for a live performance of "The Fighter" at the 2017 CMT Music Awards, which will air live from Nashville’s Music City Center at 8PM ET on Wednesday (June 7). Urban will then stick around Nashville for the 2017 CMA Music Festival.
Urban was also named 2016's Golden Boot Awards Artist of the Year.
