In case you're in need of a pick-me-up today, Kacey Musgraves is here with the perfect remedy: a goofy, high-energy new music video for her single "Biscuits."

The singer is taking what's old and making it new again, channeling vintage variety shows to bring fans a quirky, brightly colored video that you can't help but smile at. Musgraves tells Buzzfeed Music that she wanted the video to look like “Hee Haw meets Pee Wee’s Playhouse meets Wes Anderson,” and it seems like she's hit the nail on the head.

The video features a few special scenes for fans, including a mustachio'd Musgraves dressed as a farmer and some time spent singing with Cledus Guthrie, a fiddle-playing Muppet.

"[The video] is just plum country fun," Musgraves says.

"Biscuits" is the lead single off of Musgraves' hotly anticipated sophomore album, Pageant Materialwhich is set for release on June 23. The "Follow Your Arrow" singer says that "Biscuits" isn't the only part of the project that was inspired by the past -- the entire album takes influences from the days of classic country.

Pageant Material was really inspired by a lot of the classic records and artists I love: Glen CampbellJim CroceBobbie GentryMarty RobbinsRoger MillerCharley Pride. Records that set an even tone throughout are ones that I usually gravitate towards,” Musgraves says. "So recording this record was really fun and exciting for me because I knew exactly what I wanted to go for. Consistently touring and playing with my great band has made me a better singer and player and has helped me define my vision. So there was less guesswork this time around.”

"Biscuits" is available for download via Amazon and iTunes. Pre-order a digital copy of Pageant Material on iTunes, or get the vinyl edition at MyPlayDirect.com.
