Last week, Julie Roberts took to the skies above Middle Tennessee in a United States Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 jet. The 'Break Down Here' singer flew with Captain Kristin Hubbard, the Thunderbirds' No. 8 pilot, who was preparing for the Great Tennessee Airshow.

"Flying with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds today was an experience I will never forget!" Julie shared on her Facebook page. "I 'pulled 9-Gs,' y'all! I'm proud to be an American! God bless our service men and women!"

Captain Hubbard showed Julie the thrill of flight maneuvers, before returning the songstress to the Smyrna, Tenn. airport.

The Thunderbirds are based at Las Vegas' Nellis Air Force Base and tour the country performing aerobatic formations and solo flights in specially marked USAF jet aircraft.

The memorable event came almost a year to the day after Julie and her mother lost the majority of their belongings in the Nashville flood. "So many people I had never met before in my life [were here] just cleaning out debris and cleaning out things that could maybe be saved," she said. "It was a true blessing."

Julie is currently working on her third studio album, 'Alive.' She is also performing at various events across the country. Get her concert schedule here.
