John Rich may have the reputation of fun-loving rebel but the singer-songwriter has a softer side, too. The 'Celebrity Apprentice' winner recently took to Twitter to reach out to a teenager who had faced some impossibly dark days.

Sarah McKinley is an 18-year-old single mom who lost her husband to cancer on Christmas Day. Six days later, on New Year's Eve, the teenager was confronted by a man who tried to break into her house while she was at home alone with her three-month-old. Thinking quickly, the brave young girl shot the intruder, who was armed with a knife, killing him. The story struck a chord with the singer, who shared his desire to help the widow with his more than 75.000 Twitter followers.

"I'd like to find this woman who shot the intruder," John tweeted. "Her husband died from cancer on Christmas day and she has a newborn. How do we find her?"

A few hours later, the married father of two posted an update: "Thx for helping me find this young woman. Can't imagine how she feels. 18 yrs old, baby is 3 months, husband just passed. Now this? 2MUCH"

The following day, he shared good news with his fans. "We found her!! She's in a tough spot...sussing out the best way to help, will keep you all informed."

The girl's tragic story also caught the attention of several of John's musician friends, including Uncle Kracker (@unclekracker), who offered his help as well, tweeting, "lemme know how I can assist ya!"

The singer-songwriter, who was kicked off a flight last month after reportedly being deemed too intoxicated to fly, will reunite with his duo partner, Big Kenny, in 2012, after enjoying a successful Xtreme Muzik tour together last summer with Gretchen Wilson.

"The fans are still there," John tells The Boot. "We had a great job this summer. I think if we start buckling down ... We've been talking about it and think some new Big & Rich music would hit the spot here pretty soon."

Big & Rich will head to Arizona in April, to play as part of an all-star line-up at Country Thunder in Florence, Arizona, along with Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson, Jake Owen and the Band Perry. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
