Jason Aldean Eyes CMA Entertainer of the Year Prize

Jason Aldean has a pretty good chance of walking away with at least one CMA award at the star-studded gala in two weeks. The singer is nominated for Entertainer, Male Vocalist and Single of the Year (for "Dirt Road Anthem"), and readily admits he'd like to nab the night's top prize.

"It's a big honor when you get nominated for any of those things, because it comes from the industry and your peers in the industry," Jason says. "Entertainer of the Year, to me, there's never been any question that that's one on my bucket list that I want. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you. If there's one that I ever could get -- I would trade all the rest of them in for that one. That one. That one means probably more to me than any of them. But if they give me one of the other ones, I'll take that, too. I'm just saying."

Jason will also perform during the three-hour telecast. The seasoned showman, who sold out most of the dates on his My Kinda Party tour, says he will uncharacteristically have sweaty palms during the ceremony.

"It's the only time that I'm ever nervous on stage, is when we're doing live TV," he notes. "Especially an awards show, because I know you can't fix it. If I screw up and we're taping something, I know I can go back and do it again and get it done. When you're doing something on live TV, one screw-up, it's there. There ain't no fixing it. It's a little nerve-wracking and you've always got that in the back of your mind. Usually the songs that you play on those shows, you've played a million times, so you feel pretty confident with them."

Jason acknowledges that playing for some of his heroes in the audience on the big night creates the most anxiety. "For me, a lot of times, it's looking out and seeing the George Straits of the world sitting there in the front row looking at you. That's a little intimidating for me ... adds more pressure to it."

Jason will wrap up his My Kinda Party tour on Oct. 27, with his annual Concert for the Cure show in Dallas. His new album, Night Train, is out this week. The 46th Annual CMA Awards air live from Nashville, Nov. 1 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
