Granger Smith Earns First No. 1 Song
Granger Smith has earned his very first No. 1 song. "Backroad Song" is sitting pretty at the top of the Billboard, Mediabase and Music Row charts.
"How do I put this into words? Having a No. 1 song has been a lifelong dream of mine, and to achieve this as both a writer and a singer is surreal,” Smith says in a press release. “It has been a long road, but such a great adventure, and I have so many team members to thank for that. I'm feeling pretty blessed right now."
Adds Teddi Bonadies, vice president of promotion for Smith's label, Wheelhouse Records, "Thrilled, ecstatic, elated -- those words can’t begin to express the excitement in the Wheelhouse Records offices today. Achieving a No. 1 debut single from a debut artist on a debut label imprint is a pretty rare and extraordinary thing. We’re so grateful to our friends that helped make this dream a reality.”
"Backroad Song" will appear on Smith's upcoming major-label debut album, Remington, which is due out on March 4. It is an 11-track project (15 track including bonus songs), and of the 15 tracks, Smith wrote or co-wrote 13 of them.
"Backroad Song" is available for download on iTunes.
