Gary Allan has debuted his brand-new single, "Hangover Tonight."

The radio-friendly song, which features lyrics like, “We been hanging around this place / Hanging on to the hope in the way this whiskey tastes ... Feelings getting stronger / How could this be wrong, girl? / All night long, girl / I wanna hangover tonight," is presumably from Allan's upcoming new album.

“I’m gonna do the tracks that I want,” he says of the to-be-released record. “Last time, I let Jay [Joyce] pick what he wanted, and then I let Mark [Wright] pick what he wanted, then I took the [leftovers]. I think I’ll probably cut what I want this time.”

"Hangover Tonight" certainly sounds like it could soar straight to No. 1, but if it does, it will be a surprise for Allan.

“I never watch the charts," he tells The Boot. "It’s something I can’t control, and it drives me batty."

There is no word yet on a release date or more details about Allan's new project. His last album, Set You Free, spawned three Top 40 hits, including the platinum-selling No. 1 tune, "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)."

Fans will have several chances to hear the singer-songwriter perform "Hangover Tonight" over the next few months; Allan has numerous tour dates on his calendar, including stops in Texas, Mississippi and California. See all of his upcoming concerts here.
