The cast of Dolly Parton's '9 to 5: The Musical' on Broadway will be clocking out soon. The Tony Award-nominated production, featuring 17 songs written by Dolly, is set to close September 6.

Playbill.com reports that producer Robert Greenblatt broke the news to the cast before the matinee on Wednesday (July 29). By the time its run at the Marquis Theatre ends, '9 to 5' will have played 148 performances and 24 previews.

But there's some good news, too: Judy, Violet, Doralee and Mr. Hart will return to the stage next year when '9 to 5: The Musical' embarks on a national tour. The tour will kick off the week of September 20, 2010 at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

"I couldn't have asked for a better experience on my first Broadway show," says Dolly of the show based on the 1980 film which marked her acting debut. "I've had the privilege of working with an amazing group of people who have become like family to me. I can't wait for this show to hit the road so people across the country can see why I'm so proud of everyone involved. And I'm so pleased that we'll be opening the tour in Nashville. Great things happen in Nashville."

The Broadway cast recording of '9 to 5: The Musical' hit stores yesterday (July 28). Dolly talked to The Boot earlier this week about that recording, and revealed details of another musical she's already working on -- one based on her colorful life story.
