Dolly Parton has wrapped shooting on her latest film, 'Joyful Noise,' where she and co-star Queen Latifah kept the laughs coming on screen and off.

"She was fun to work with! She's kind of towering over me, so we called each other 'Big' and 'Small,'" Dolly dished to 'Fox and Friends.'

As far how she referred to her co-star, Dolly shared that while the cast and crew called her Dana, the country singer refused. "I would always say, 'Here comes the Queen!'" Dolly added with a giggle.

The country legend also joked that the pair may have discovered family ties while on the set. "Her [real] name is Dana Owens, which is my family name," Dolly says. "My mother's people are Owens. I guess we're soul cousins somehow."

The film, written and directed by Todd Graff, chronicles the story of two women who band together to keep their tight-knit gospel choir from falling apart, after the death of the choir's director. Dolly plays the late director's wife, who has her eye on replacing her husband, while Queen Latifah portrays a stern, no-nonsense mother of two teens who is put in charge of the Pacashau Gospel Choir.

"There's a love-hate relationship with Queen Latifah and me and, of course, toward the end we become friends," Dolly says of their characters. "It causes a lot of tension, and a lot of fun! I think it's going to be a wonderful movie."

While Dolly enjoys acting, it's always better when it incorporates her first love. "I'm so happy to be doing a movie about music, especially happy because it's gospel music, which I grew up singing and loving," Dolly gushes to Country Weekly. "We need something uplifting in this day in time! So ... happy, happy, happy: that's me."

'Joyful Noise' is Dolly's first film since 1992's 'Straight Talk.' It is slated to be released in January 2012. In the meantime, fans of the country diva can catch Dolly on her Better Day World Tour. Her album of the same name drops this summer.
