Dolly Parton is happily married, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know heartache. Her latest hit, 'Shinola,' is about an arrogant, cheating playboy. So just who was the inspiration behind it? The Boot asked the legendary songwriter if she's ever met someone like the subject of the song.

"Well, absolutely! We know them, whether we've dated them or married them or see them just runnin' around with friends. Yes, I've seen tons of those guys, ain't you?" she asked us, with a laugh.

Dolly met hubby Carl Dean the very first day she moved to Nashville, back in 1964. They married two years later, when she was just 20 years old. But she insists her own bachelorette days coupled with the love lives of friends and family have given her a lifetime's worth of writing inspiration.

"I had a life before I married my husband!" she tells The Boot. "I started young ... I used to date a lot. But I don't always just write about my own life experiences. I can write about people I love. I have five sisters and six brothers, so I see how they are with their relationships ... I just kind of watch other people's lives and I can apply it to my own. 'Cause sometimes I feel so much for them I might as well be livin' it myself!"
